Honors Pre-Calculus is beginning college level course and will be taught in such a manner. Students will be expected to think at a higher level, work at a pace unlike previous math classes, and continue their growth in mathematics using and building on previous knowledge. This is a gateway course for Calculus where all the math learned up through Pre-Calculus is required knowledge for success.

I am available for help before and after school most days. I arrive at the school by 6:45am and am usually at the school until 3:30pm. I do help students during my lunch.

ACC credit will be available for each trimester. Pre-Calculus A will count towards MTH 111 (5 credits), and Pre-Calculus B will count for MTH 112 (5 credits). The decision as to whether or not a student wishes to apply for the ACC credit is completely voluntary and must be done through CCC (OCHS takes no part in the application process for CCC credit). Please understand that CCC is very adamant about their deadlines (as are all Colleges and Universities). As such, if a student tries to sign up too late, or pay the fees too late, the college credit will not be available to them.

I will post numerous things on this site throughout the trimester; however, class notes will NOT be one of them. If a student misses class for any number of reasons, it is their responsibility to get the notes from another student in the class. I rarely have notes written out ahead of time as I only use an outline of topics and create examples as the lesson progresses and as I deem necessary.

There will be many quizzes that occur throughout the trimester - some will be worth more than others. each of these quizzes will be cumulative for the lessons learned in the chapter up to that point. Once a chapter is completed, there will be a chapter test. Being that this is a college level class, there will be NO retakes given or test corrections allowed. Thus, it would behoove the students to stay on top of the material. If a student misses class on test day for any reason, it should be made up in a timely manner according to the student Code of Conduct, and the student should expect and completely different and possibly a more difficult test than the one given on the original test day.
