STEM Biology is designated for 9th grade students who have earned the opportunity to work at an accelerated pace in a science course that prepares them for upper division science courses.  The STEM Biology core curriculum units emphasize ecology, cell biology, genetics and evolution.  All topics focus on students meeting the Oregon State Life Science Standards based on the NGSS while in the 9th grade.  Successful completion of laboratory activities is a significant portion of the grade as are term long projects.  Out-of-class projects, research and reading assignments are assigned throughout the term.
