PS#1: basic editing

CROP, CONTRAST & COLOR ADJUSTMENT

DUE THIS FRIDAY, April 12 (by the end of the period)


OBJECTIVE: STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO APPLY THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF BASIC PHOTOSHOP EDITING TO A SERIES OF PHOTOGRAPHS.


Use the “Photoshop Cheat Sheet #1” that I handed out in class, and complete the specific Photoshop techniques for each photo listed below. Save your finished photos to your server (or Photobucket, Flickr, or a flash drive). You will turn in this assignment this week (put them in a desktop folder titled “your name + PS#1")  -> drag and drop that folder into the drop box on the server.


*For images 1-6: Use the following images, and follow the directions for each:


1. Crop + Convert to Black+White with HIGH CONTRAST

2. Crop + Saturate the Color

3. Crop + Desaturate the color

4. Crop + Change the HUE

and make it GREEN

5. Crop + Convert to Black+White WITH a Tint.

6. Crop + Darken + COOL Photo Filter

To Download photos from GOOGLE CHROME:

1. Click on the photo.

2. Click the SAVE BUTTON in the TOP RIGHT corner.

3. Leave the file name, for "Where" select DESKTOP.

4. Open the photo in Photoshop:

           -- When the "Import PDF" window opens, click OK.

*For images 7-8: Select any 2 photos that you've taken this trimester, and edit in PS.

For each photo:

     -CROP

     -adjust the HUE/SATURATION and BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST
