INSTEP Semester in London.  Program in International Strategic Policy.  1986.

Special Training:  Attended Teachers College and Oregon Writing Institutes, and International Baccalaureate courses in English A2 and Theory of Knowledge, and received training in Writing Traits analysis, Portfolio assessment, and Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP).


TEACHING EXPERIENCE


Oregon City High School.  Oregon City, OR.  Teach Grade 9-12 English, Honors Humanities, Media Literacy & Production, and World Literature electives.  Participated on Site Committee and Textbook adoption committees.  Conducted Action Research on Student Attitudes Towards Reading.  Scored District Writing Assessment and co-taught workshops in analytical writing traits scoring.  Advise TAG International Seminar, and literary magazine and video production clubs.  1996-present

Escuela Campo Alegre.  Caracas, Venezuela.  Taught Grade 10 Core English, Grade 12 International Baccalaureate English A2 Higher/ Subsidiary Level, and Grade 11-12 English electives.  Developed curriculum for Writing Lab program.  Coordinated MS/HS athletics schedule, equipment and facilities, advised student newspaper and literary magazine, and sat on Judiciary Committee.  1994-96.

American Collegiate Institute.  Izmir, Turkey.  Grade 10-12 English, and Writing Coordinator.  Implemented whole language workshop and Portfolio assessment.  Taught writing process, writing traits analysis, cooperative learning strategies, and developed various content units in multi-cultural literature.  Compiled writing research, and advised teachers in writing curriculum and activities.  Advised student music and media clubs, and coached soccer.  1992-94.

Glencoe High School.  Hillsboro, OR.  Grade 10 Language Arts.  Taught Advanced, Regular and Skills track courses in literature and composition.  Actively participated in School Improvement Committees, and offered in-service workshops in Writing Process, creativity, and Portfolio Assessment.  Coached soccer and volleyball.  1989-92.

Gladstone School District.  Gladstone, OR.  Interdisciplinary Tutor and Substitute Teacher.  Instituted school-wide tutorial program, and served as long-term substitute in English and Social Studies.  1988-89.

Bank St. School for Children.  New York, NY. Student Teacher, Grade 8 English/Social Studies Core.  Developed and implemented curricula in literature, writing and government.  1988.
